As I continue in this Masters in Media program, I am realizing more and more the importance of speaking about yourself in terms of where you want to be not where you are now. This can be a really hard task as I am still in the process of figuring out what that “dream job” might look like. However, through my time here and jobs I’ve held in the past, I am starting to find where my core strengths are and what roles might best suit me in the future.
Below is my current bio that I can change and adapt as I grow professionally. It is clear and concise about where I feel my strengths are now but also touches on the types of roles I’m interested in.
Rebecca Small has a BA in Graphic Design from West Virginia Wesleyan College and Masters in Media from RMIT University. She has worked in a range of production roles from project manager, to location assistant and continuity coordinator. Additionally, she has worked for organizations and undertaken internships with Phare Ponleu Selpak in Cambodia and the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA). Rebecca is currently working on the short documentary series Art-Off the Wall for Instagram, which highlights Melbourne artists working in non-traditional mediums.
